Book, Music and Lyrics by
Lauren Robert Presented by PREMIERES in February 2006 Costume Design by Bruce Doctor, Louis Tucci, Bernhard Ullrich |
SYNOPSIS |
This new play with music explores the potency and impact of language: words said and words unspoken. It is both a drama with mystery and a tragedy with humor. When Deanne Campino and Colin Maitlin meet in Mifflin’s bar in New York City, their union ignites a far too familiar attraction and slap and tickle repartee borne of their shame-filled, secret pasts. The play is ultimately about the struggle to escape the shipwrecks of the past and the effort to maintain enough hope to want to. |
PRODUCTION HISTORY |
.22 Caliber Mouth was originally produced by The Bloomington Playwrights Project in 2002. It was further developed at the O’Neill Music Theater Conference in 2004 where Ms. Robert won the Georgia Bogardus Holof Lyricist Award. |
